The Siganto Artists’ Books Seminar is back for 2015!

A two day celebration of artists’ books funded by the Siganto Foundation is planned for the weekend of June 20 – 21 this year. Artists’ books as performance will be put in the spotlight during Saturday’s Seminar and SLQ will host an artists’ book fair in the Knowledge Walk on Sunday.

SLQ invites submissions from artists who would like to perform / read an artists’ book at the Siganto Foundation Artists’ Book Seminar.

With a theme of artists’ books and performance, the keynote address will be given by Brazilian artist Amir Brito Cadôr who will also be performing ‘Momento Vital’ by artist Vera Chaves Barcellos.
Performances will form the second part of the program between 2 and 4.30pm.

Application Details
Performances can be up to 10 minutes in length.
Your submission should include text and a synopsis of the planned performance, timing and any technical support required.
Performances will be filmed and later made available online.
The Seminar will be held in SLQ Auditorium 1.
No funding is available for performers.

As part of the Siganto Artists’ Book Seminar, State Library is hosting an Artists’ Book Fair.

SLQ invites submissions from artists, bookmakers, bookbinders, artist’s groups, zine artists and small press publishers. In order to exhibit at the Artists’ Book Fair you must sell artists’ books.

Application details
The exhibitors’ fee is $25 per half table (each table is 260cm x 90cm). Free access will be provided to power and Wi-Fi.
To secure your table the exhibitors’ fee must be paid by 9 June 2015.
Your submission should include the number of tables required, your name, address, email and phone contact number.
Submissions and enquiries should be sent to: ALAfellowship@slq.qld.gov.au
Deadline for submission: 31 May 2015.
Selected applicants will be notified by 2 June 2015.
