Design Minds launches new graphics resources

Design Minds has been working with a reference group of senior school Graphics teachers to develop resources that align with the new Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) Graphics Senior Syllabus 2013.

This new syllabus, released by the QSA late last year, has a much greater focus on the ‘design’ side of graphics, introducing ‘design factors’ and the ‘design process’ as key elements of the syllabus.

Working together with a reference group of Graphics teachers and architecture firm Hames Sharley, Design Minds has created two new toolkits to support teachers introducing the new syllabus into classrooms this year: Graphics–Design Factors and Graphics–Design Process.

Graphics–Design Factors (click to download)

Designed to create a greater understanding of the design process in the syllabus, this toolkit uses the three Design Minds phases (Inquire, Ideate, Implement) to work through a series of design challenges.

Designed to create a greater understanding of the role of design factors in the new syllabus, this toolkit explores each of the eight factors through a range of guided activities.

Design Minds graphics professional development day–Thursday 20 February

Following on from the development of these two new toolkits is our first professional development day for 2014, designed specifically to support Graphics teachers.
Due to popular demand we have added a second PD day for Graphics teachers, to be held on Thursday 20 Feb.

During this workshop you will work with fellow teachers and practicing design mentors to develop a deeper understanding of the new syllabus and how it applies to the classroom, using the two new Graphics toolkits.

Design Minds professional development days take you through exercises in the three Design Minds phases (inquire, ideate, implement), provide understanding of the tools and processes involved in using design thinking in the classroom and demonstrate how innovative solutions for wicked problems or challenges in schools can be achieved through design.

  1. Comments are usually met with a response from your opposite number and you
cann also develop a reputation in the meddia depending on your actions.
The fact that you have made it to an academy should count as a success.
They must not go underestimated in any Pokmon may
    do changes.

  2. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally,it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.
You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just
posting videos to your site whgen you could be giving us something enlighhtening to read?

  3. Hey There. I discovered your blog the usage of msn. That is a really smartly written article.
I’ll be sure to bookmark it and return to read more of your helpful info.

Thank you for the post. I’ll certainly return.

  4. I do not know whether it’s just me or if perhaps
everyone else encountering problems with your website.

It seems like some of the written text within your content are running off the screen.
Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them as well?
This may be a issue with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen previously.

    Many thanks

  5. The cost of a new game is high, so give it some
time. With this in mind, you should be ready to
begin your career in video game testing. So move ahead, include
a loop and view your music ascend to another stage. You know those advertising circulars you see in the morning newspaper from a
game retailer that spotlights a new release. Only seven percent of children in this age
    range actually meet this requirement.

  6. So gear up for a wondrous ride to the unknown lands and get transported into a daring virtual world with free
online racing games. They don not require high end hardware or software; in some cases, you may have to download certain plug-ins, though.
Both games were a hugely popular hit, but 5 years
later, Skyrim outsold Oblivion in less than a few months.
It is turning into all kinds of problems and unless you want an argument with your spouse you should probably stay
away from this one. Since businesses also depend
upon the crowd hence a number of small and medium sized businesses
are getting Facebook applications developed for their businesses.
