A range of concepts designed by students of a new independent product design school based in Brisbane will be on display in the Design Lounge this month.
Operating from within the brand new Fabrication Lab at the The Edge, AUXILIARY Design School has wrapped up their 14 week programme, exposing students to industry leading strategy, practice, process, tools and techniques, allowing them to produce professional grade design projects for major industry sponsor Sunbeam Australia. The concept prototypes on display represent a variety of unique design solutions based on research, insight and skilled execution.
AUXILIARY’s co-founders Neil Davidson, Leon Fitzpatrick, Carolyn Yip, and Leo Yip, share a background and ongoing practice of industrial design, with a combined 40+ years of rigorous industry experience. Their mandate is to produce designers who will not only provide a creative contribution to the art & design community, but also to the economy as skilled, confident and capable designers.
Date: June 29 – July 19
Location: Design Lounge, level 2, State Library of Queensland
