Plantation Voices: Contemporary conversations with Australian South Sea Islanders exhibition open until 8 September 2019, State Library of Queensland

On Saturday 3 August, State Library of Queensland will be celebrating the 25th anniversary for national recognition of Australian South Sea Islanders with a White Gloves Experience, Curator’s Tour of Plantation Voices exhibition and an up close and personal curator and artist discussion.

LaVonne Bobongie’s photography, featured in Plantation Voices, documents the Australian South Sea Islander community today in 2019. It is a significant addition to the State Library of Queensland’s photographic collections.
