A mini-conference in Mackay in August will showcase over twenty literacy and numeracy practitioners and their experiences on topics including migrant settlement programs, complex language ecologies, using short films in ESL classrooms, social media for informal professional development, and the benefit of arts based learning for EAL/D students to develop vocabulary, generate ideas and improve their oracy skill languages.
Registrations are open for the joint QATESOL – QCAL Biennial Regional Mini Conference.
The mini-conference will also exhibit a vast display of resources, provide many networking opportunities and share information about organisations which provide support for those working in literacy, numeracy and English language sectors.
