Renewed vision on the horizon

VISION 2017 review

The University Of Southern Queensland (USQ) has been successful in their tender for the review of The Next Horizon: VISION 2017 for Queensland public libraries, the strategic vision for Queensland public libraries (2013-2017).

Their proposal was assessed by the VISION 2017 Review Project Working Group and has now been approved to progress to the next stage.

The project team of Dr Kate Davis and Dr Matt Finch, have ensured that the next VISION will be guided by input from public library staff and other key stakeholders; and the next steps will include:

  • A series of consultation and engagement workshops with key stakeholders around the state to gather a representative range of view points
  • Interviews with a number of library managers from a range of different libraries, including regional and urban services as, as well as services of different sizes.
  • A short online questionnaire for all public library staff

Keep an eye on the Public Libraries Connect blog to see if the team will be coming to a library near you or to take part in the questionnaire.
