Literary competition for people who are blind

Queensland Braille Writing Association (Braille House) is proud to announce that the Dickinson Memorial Literary Competition for this year is now open – to participants who are legally blind and Australian residents.

Spread the word about this opportunity to pen a short story or poem and be in the running to win cash prizes in this year’s competition. Manuscripts must be an unpublished work, not on offer for publication before announcement of Awards and not have been recognised in any other competition. There are categories for all ages.

Prize money is available in every category; $350 first prize per category and $150 second prize per category.

The theme is Belonging and entries close 25 August 2017. Submissions should be in hard-copy Braille, Simbraille or a Duxbury-readable file.  To learn more about the history of the competition click on this link: Dickinson Memorial Literary Competition History.

Winning entries will be published in the Braille House Dickinson Memorial Literary Competition 2017 publication in e-braille and embossed.
