Why not reserve your Fathers and Grandfathers junior storytelling kit now in time for Father’s Day in September? State Library of Queensland (SLQ) has more than 300 storytelling resources for loan to all Queensland public libraries. You can access kits by completing the online request form. The full list of resources is on the RLQ catalogue.
Sharing books, talking together and singing songs is an important part of early childhood learning. Storytelling kits can provide extra titles and resources to enhance your storytelling sessions and make reading with children even better!
Some titles in the Fathers and Grandfathers kits that you can access include: Amazing Daddy by R Bright, Where’s Daddy Hiding? by E. Allen; My Dad is a Giraffe by Stephen Michael King; Grandpa is Great by Laine Mitchell and How I Love You , Daddy by Anna Pignataro.
Storytelling resources can be used in the library or you can lend them to library members. These school holidays we encourage you to borrow a range of storytelling resources for your library – you can mix and match your kits for even more fun.
Other storytelling resources include a parachute, badge maker and big books such as Ten Little Monkeys by Lisa Freeman and Cats by Nigel Croser.
The Owl and the Pussycat has felt pieces and you can borrow a felt board. The Sheep kit has a hand puppet and several titles including 10 Funny Sheep by Ed Allen.
