Register now to take part in National eSmart Week, 4-8 September. An initiative of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, National eSmart Week is an opportunity to raise awareness across the community and encourage everyone to be smart, safe and responsible when using digital technology. This year’s theme is Building Cyber Safe Communities. Now in its third year, National eSmart Week celebrates online safety through the Foundation’s eSmart Schools, eSmart Libraries and eSmart Digital Licence. The week will be launched on Sunday, 3 September by Minister for Communications, Senator Mitch Fifield. Libraries can register online and receive a free National eSmart Week Activities Toolkit, which offers fun activities and ideas for community education on issues of cyber safety and wellbeing, online and offline. Free webinars will be available throughout the week. It’s also a chance to get creative and engage on social media. Partner organisation, the Telstra Foundation is providing an amazing prize worth $5,000 to the creator of the most engaging social media campaign during eSmart Week! Libraries looking to take part can register here.
