Technology news – a device converting text to speech!

This amazing piece of tech promotes independent reading and is great for users with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia, learning to read, people with ESL needs, LOTE users or for educators and parents assisting students who can’t read.

The C-Pen Reader is a pocket-sized, portable, standalone scanner pen or digital highlighter which can be held in one hand and simply dragged over a line of text like a highlighter or a pen. You can plug in the included headphones or listen via the built-in speaker. It also displays dictionary definitions.

In Australia, it is available via Spectronics for $390. There is also a C-Pen Reader Class Pack (10 pens) suitable for libraries and schools.
