Skilling Our Futures Grant 2018

Skilling Our Future PD – Darling Downs & Southwest Queensland

Following the success of last year’s Robotics Roadshow, SLQ is partnering with Regional Development Australia Darling Downs Southwest (RDA DDSW) to help regional libraries continue building skills in delivering Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) programs to their communities.

This year’s program will kick off with three professional development opportunities featuring some of the most exciting new technologies – drones, 360 degree cameras and EZ Robots. The workshops will cover tips and tricks for writing a knockout grant application, how to develop a sustainable technology plan for your library, how to plan programs that meet community needs…and of course there will be an opportunity to get hands-on with the gadgets.

Libraries in the Darling Downs and Southwest region who attend the training will be eligible to apply for a grant to purchase new technologies, to provide local skills development opportunities and to run new STEAM programs for their communities.

While not all libraries are eligible to apply for this specific grant funding, we invite anyone interested in developing their skills and make (or remake) connections with staff from other libraries.
