Pop-Up library at Year of the Dog Celebrations!

Moreton Bay Region Libraries helped celebrate the Lunar New Year as part of the Moreton Bay Lunar New Year 2018 celebrations held in Caboolture Town Square on the 17th February.

This vibrant and colourful event featured cultural and artistic festivities, fireworks, workshops, a huge variety of food… and the Pop-Up Library!

As part of its strategic vision, Moreton Bay Region Libraries recently developed a Pop-Up Library and remote circulation access technology, to provide library membership, programs and resources to customers outside the 10 physical branches.

In utilising the Pop-Up Library, for the Lunar New Year celebrations the Caboolture Library team created an inviting, informative and engaging space.

The space included a family zone, with games, First Five Forever collateral and Storytime.

A small targeted collection was also available for loan and new members could be joined up on the spot.

The Spheros and Darwin Mini robots were demonstrated to highlight upcoming robotics workshops and a chill-out bench was provided to live-stream the Winter Olympics for those wanting down-time from the festivities, together with more collection.

The Pop-Up Library attracted over 600 visitors throughout the celebrations making it one of the most successful Pop-Ups yet!

Gong xi fa cai! Or Happy New Year!
