Have your say on the new Staffing Standard!

Between January 2018 and May 2018 the State Library of Queensland (State Library) is coordinating a review of three focus areas in the Queensland public library standards and guidelines – Technology, Library Buildings, and Staffing.

Each standard will be revised under the guidance of a separate Review Panel which may be made up of volunteers from State Library, public library, and Indigenous Knowledge Centre staff from across Queensland.

The Staffing Standard is the first to be reviewed, and a draft of the new standard is now available from the Public Libraries Connect website.

The State Library is now calling for your feedback on the draft new Standard

Feedback must be submitted by email to the Local Government Coordination Team by 4 April 2018 to be included for consideration in the final Staffing Standard.

For more information about any of the Standards please contact the Local Government Coordination Team lgc@slq.qld.gov.au.

Do you think you can make a contribution to the review of these planning and development tools?

Are public library standards and guidelines important to you? Are you looking for a different kind professional development opportunity? Then consider nominating as a representative for the next round of Review Panels!

Keep an eye on the Public Libraries Connect newsletter in May 2018 for the callout for volunteers for the next group of Review Panel members.
