National Science week, for this year, 11th-19th August, is an annual celebration of science and technology.
The week will see thousands of interactive events held in communities across Australia, to spark passion, in an area which is ever more vital in our lives.
Schools will be a natural focus of the festival, but libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) , ever more the ‘missing link’ in connecting their communities with technology, need not be short of ideas in contributing to the excitement of the week.
National Science Week has produced a fantastic resource, to enable you to make your library or IKC an awesome Science Week space. The Library Activities guide contains a wealth of ideas for you to consider bringing to life, from great ways to link the science theme to your collections and regular activities such as book clubs, to library cases studies, online resources and suggestions on guest speakers. There are direct links supplied to resources from a diverse range of partners including National Science Week themselves, CSIRO, and other libraries, with ideas that you know are tried and tested.
