Vision to be showcased at LGAQ Conference

State Library of Queensland (State Library) will be sharing the story of libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) at the Local Government Association of Queensland Annual Conference later this month.

As the largest LGAQ event in 2018, the conference is an opportunity not to be missed to advocate on behalf of our state-wide and cohesive network of libraries and IKCs delivering deeply local outcomes for Queensland communities.

Vision display

LGAQ Annual Conference participants will be asked to consider how they are supporting the Queensland libraries’ vision.

Mayors, councillors, CEOs, ministers, government officials and other industry stakeholders present at the conference will be asked to consider how they are ‘realising their potential’ as State Library showcases Realising our potential: A vision for Queensland public libraries (the Vision).

The Vision display will include examples of how libraries and IKCs from across the state are delivering on the Vision objectives of Realising our potential, Deeply local outcomes, Extending our reach, and Future focused workforce, and conference participants will be invited to share their own ideas for how their community is meeting or striving to meet the objectives and intent of the Vision.

Follow the conference conversation on social media at #qldlibraries and #LGAQ2018.

The conference will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, 29-30 October 2018. Visit the conference website for more information.
