The 2018 Minutes Queensland Local Studies Group 6 December Meeting, are now available online.

The day was a very full one visiting two small exhibition spaces in Brisbane CBD, both linking to different aspects of Brisbane’s history and early settlement. Each provided the opportunity to re-interpret collections in Libraries and to reveal the narratives the material can tell us.

We thank Katie McConnel at Old Government House (OGH) for sharing her knowledge with us and the story of the latest exhibition on display on the library room –  The Invincible Spirit of Queenslanders, through their built environment: Old Government House, 11 Oct 2018 – 11 Jan 2019.

The group also thanks Madelaine and Museum of Brisbane for hosting a visit to Perspectives of Brisbane and the interesting aspects to developing a new media art work on displaying aboriginal sites of significance near the Brisbane River.
