What do you love most about libraries?
I love the diversity of what we do and who we are. Every day is different and I’m fortunate to be part of a hard-working team who know how to have a good laugh.
How did you find the experience of presenting at the 2019 RLQ and small libraries workshop?
I loved it! It was a fantastic opportunity to pass on the social media knowledge we’ve built up over the years. It was inspiring to hear what other libraries are up to and meet library staff from all over Queensland too.
What is your favorite Instagram post and why?
The Jens in our #Liblympics series. That whole series is special because we had so many staff involved in creating it but it’s The Jens that still make me laugh all these years later.
How can library staff learn more about getting creative with Instagram?
Explore what other libraries are doing and follow hashtags like #qldlibraries for ideas. Play around with apps – we love Boomerang and Hyperlapse. Have a go at a #Bookface – it’s an easy and addictive way to get started if you’re new to social media.
If you had unlimited resources what would be the number one thing you would do?
Storytime in Space! I think our storytime kids would love a space flight to sing Twinkle Twinkle among the stars 🙂
