Join us for an out of this world Exploring the Moon with Edisons webinar on Thursday 15 August 1-2pm
Edisons are an Australian designed robot which is Lego compatible.
The Edison can be converted into myriad types of machines with the EdCreate extension packs, Lego blocks, or whatever you might have lying around!
Edison can be coded via its own block-based coding language, Edblocks, or via barcodes, and can be driven with any infra-red remote-control unit, just like the one for your tv. It can also be used on its own without any external device at all.
This webinar will provide information and activities to assist library staff to develop and deliver an Exploring the moon with Edisons activity.
Exploring the moon with Edisons invites ‘lunar miners’ to work together to engineer Edison vehicles, use coding skills to collect ‘energised lunar rocks’ that will generate a circuit to power a LED at the moon base!
Participants will learn how to:
• create a lunar surface out of Al-foil and cardboard
• code Edisions using an iPad
• operate Edisions using a remote control
• create a simple power circuit to power a LED
