First 5 Forever Webinar, Thursday 29th August, 1-2pm
Registrations are still open for the next First 5 Forever webinar: Early Literacy in Action – using play-based resources to support talking, reading, singing and playing.
This webinar will support the first element of the First 5 Forever Community Literacy Project: Libraries as play-based spaces.
Communication has gone out to library managers and council community and cultural service leaders regarding the allocation of notional funding to each council, for the purchase of high-quality play-based resources and outreach materials.
Funding allocations will be circulated shortly, along with an extensive resource list from which you can select items for purchase by State Library, on your behalf.
The webinar will provide an overview of the kinds of resources which will be available, with a focus on how to make the most of this opportunity. Some of the content will include:
• How to choose resources suitable for a range of circumstances
• What you can do to maximise play-based engagement in your library and outreach activity
• How to embed play-based resources into First 5 Forever programming and to integrate them with collections
When: Thursday 29th August 2019
