Just in time for World Digital Preservation Day 2019, staff at State Library of Queensland created a parody song to raise the profile of the importance of digital preservation. The target was Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. The parody song highlights the need to transfer your digital content from containers (USBs, floppy disks, CDs, DVDs, etc) to better, long-term storage, to ensure ongoing access to your digital content.
Do you have digital content in your local studies collection that needs to be transferred to a more secure format? For more information on digitisation in libraries check out the resources on the Public Libraries Connect (PLC) website.
