Are you a library leader or maybe you aspire to be one?
State Library of Queensland is excited to offer an amazing professional development (PD) opportunity to Queensland public library and Indigenous Knowledge Centre (IKC) staff.
Library Leadership at all levels is a PD program that will support successful applicants as they build the skills, confidence and networks needed to lead library services in the journey to becoming fully realised 21st century libraries.
It will be facilitated by Chris Ridler from Performance Potential, who is an experienced leadership consultant and coach – and is also a librarian!
Successful applicants will:
• explore what leadership is for them as individuals and in their library service and council
• investigate leadership topics and challenges
• work with and build a strong network with library leaders across Queensland
• receive one on one ‘laser coaching’ from Performance Potential coaches
• use the skills learned to develop an Advocacy Action Plan for their library service.
Library Leadership at all levels will be practical, engaging and relevant. The program requires an estimated total time commitment of approximately eight days (including four face to face workshops) spread over three months, from February – April 2020.
Registration in Library Leadership at levels is free (it will be funded by State Library of Queensland). Other costs (travel, accommodation, allowances) is to be paid by Council. In recognition of the financial pressures on some councils, State Library is offering a limited number of travel bursaries for successful applicants to attend the workshops at the State Library.
