World Science Festival Brisbane 2019 is just around the corner, coming to the cultural precinct from the 20-24 March! In anticipation of this year’s festival, there are a range of State Library of Queensland resources freely available to quench your curiosity in science. Below is a snapshot to get you started.

Deepen your Festival experience with Kanopy

State Library membership gives you free access to over 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, hard-to-find titles, film festival favourites, indie and classic films and world cinema on Kanopy.

We’ve curated a playlist with 20 films linked to World Science Festival themes. To see more, simply become a State Library member and follow the steps below!

Fabrication Lab – The Edge basement at State Library houses a creative space with a host of resources for you to bring your creative visions to life. It is an open access community makerspace with equipment and tools available to anyone with a creative idea. See more information on the State Library website.

flickr – State Library holds approximately 1.5 million photographic resources in flickr from Queensland dating from 1859 to the present day. Popular science related sets include, Quarantined in Queensland and Astronomy and New Horizons.

Magnificent Makers – Be amazed by the remarkable achievements of past Queensland innovators from State Library’s Magnificent Makers exhibition. Discover more online.
