Are you part of a Queensland based orchestra, band or choir and need to access music performance sets? Or perhaps you know of someone who might want to know more?
State Library’s music collection contains over 3000 band, choral and orchestral performance and these can be borrowed by members of State library. Best of all, it’s absolutely FREE. Sign up for State Library membership and start borrowing music sets (for 3 months+).
1. Band Sets: Browse our band sets. If you are looking for something in particular, search using a combination of the composer, title or work number and add the keyword SCRB to your search. You can decide if a set will be useful for your particular band by checking the parts sheet, located towards the bottom of the catalogue record as a link called ‘View instrumentation’.
2. Orchestral Sets: Browse our orchestral sets. You can limit the display to show only operas, waltzes, musicals, symphonies, string orchestra, popular music, and others. Or you can limit to a particular composer. If you are looking for something in particular, search using a combination of the composer, title or work number and add the keyword SCRO to your search.
3. Choral Sets: Browse our choral set. Choral sets contain multiple copies of the same sheet of music, and often the choral set will have an accompanying orchestral set. If you are looking for something in particular, search using a combination of the composer, title or work number and add the keyword SCRC to your search.
Search for music sets and more via our online catalogue, One Search. If you need some help get in touch with our fabulous librarians on 3840 7810 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) or use our online enquiry form. If we don’t have the music you need we can help you source it from another library in Australia.
