Indigenous Australian, Private James Leo ENRIGHT, No.11 Depot Battalion.
James ENRIGHT was born in 1884 to Charles and Catherine Enright (nee Donnelly). He was working as labourer in Queensland when he enlisted in February 1916. His older brother William Bede Enright had enlisted one month prior in Moree, NSW.
James Enright volunteered to serve with the first AIF but his health prevented him from progressing from the training camp at Enoggera.
He was suffering from rheumatism which prevented him from participating in any formal duties, and was medically discharged in March 1916.
