Salvage: Recycling Art Competition is on again this year!
Brisbane City Council is seeking 10 creative people to be part of Salvage: Recycling Art Competition 2017.
This competition is about promoting a culture of reuse in Brisbane by showcasing bold, inspiring and unique artworks created from recycled furniture and other household items found at Council tip shops and other second-hand stores throughout Brisbane.
To inspire you, read in Design Online examples of designing with waste in Repurpose and Repair: Using Waste as Standing Reserve and how waste was chosen as the wicked problem of focus for first year design students at Queensland College of Art.
The competition will allow selected artists to showcase the creative possibilities in everyday items, with artworks to be exhibited at a contemporary arts venue in Brisbane. Through public voting, selected artists will also have the opportunity to win a share of $5000.
To be considered for this opportunity to combine your creativity and passion for sustainability, submit your expression of interest by 30 January 2017.
