Social Playground backs Snapchat but most small businesses are missing out

Annabelle Davidson has just acquired the world’s first Snapchat printer along with the global rights to the product.

The self-proclaimed ‘selfie queen’ and founder of social activation agency Social Playground says the Tap2Print product can drive Snapchat growth for businesses.

Users are required to follow a business’ Snapchat account in order to send and print their snaps at events, increasing followers for businesses.

“It’s definitely a way to engage the millennial audience,” Davidson says. “Millennial consumers are already taking snaps – this just ensures the snap is tied back to the brand and increases the brand’s following organically”.

Growing discrepancy between business and consumers

As a keen Snapchat user, Davidson is in the minority of small businesses with the Sensis 2017 Social Media Report released on Thursday showing only 1 per cent of small businesses have a presence on the social media platform.

The survey of  800 Australian consumers and 1100 Australian businesses shows Snapchat is still a niche platform for businesses despite the large opportunity given 40 per cent of consumers are now on the platform. Read more
