The new monthly publication from Brisbane Aboriginal Sovereign Embassy was launched on Friday 7th September at the Embassy in Musgrave Park.
The Monthly publication celebrates the voice of the Brisbane Aboriginal Sovereign Embassy – informing first nations people & educating the non-indigenous community about the fight for sovereignty & other issues facing indigenous people.
The magazine is a wonderful collection of stories, personal profiles, images and so much information for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. It also has information about upcoming special events and weekly gatherings that are hosted by the BASE in order to encourage all people to look, listen and learn more about our culture.
Upcoming events include:
30th Anniversary of the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games protests
What will it involve?
Opening corroboree, a feast and the premiere screening of a documentary shot at the 82 protests
Towards a Sovereign Republic concert, a re-enactment of one of the many marches into the city, talks and workshops featuring participants of the 82 protests and those currently involved in the sovereign movement.
This is such a great Monthly publication so if you want to find out more or contribute to Brisbane Blacks Monthly, contact the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org
