My day on the mobile library

Hi my name is Zane, checking in after a few weeks at the library.

My favourite work here so far has been working with the little kids – helping them do things, singing nursery rhymes with them – at first I was a bit shy having to sing in front of everyone, but then I got the hang of it and now I love it!  It’s great seeing them smiling and the parents relaxing with their children and getting the stress off their back.

Last week I went on the mobile library out to Harrisville. The mobile library visits small communities around the Scenic Rim. The lookouts along the way are spectacular, the roads can be bumpy too – when we got to our stop and opened the doors all the books had fallen off the shelves onto the floor!

I had a wonderful time going out on the truck with Craig and hearing his stories of work, fishing, and cruising on his Harley on a Sunday afternoon.
